The name of Arda Güler is once again at the center of controversy at Real Madrid. This time it is not because of his performance or his lack of minutes, but because of a serious accusation that comes directly from Türkiye. Serhat Pekmezci, former coach and mentor of the footballer in the first years of his career, has made explosive statements that point directly at the white locker room.

In an interview given to Sports Digitale, Pekmezci has been blunt and has left no room for doubt about what, according to him, the young Turkish talent is experiencing at the Santiago Bernabéu.

“Arda Güler is suffering mobbing”
The words of the Ottoman coach have caused an authentic earthquake. “Although Real Madrid is a megaclub, Arda Güler is suffering mobbing (workplace harassment). The harassment came from the players. There is a group there that hasn’t been able to accept him; unfortunately, they are players with a very high ego”, he stated.

A very serious accusation that puts the focus directly on Real Madrid’s locker room. Pekmezci did not point to specific names, but he did hint that there would be a sector of the group that would not have fully accepted the emergence of “15”.

However, he also wanted to clarify that this information would not have been confessed to him directly by Arda Güler himself. According to what he explained, it is a personal perception based on what he sensed could happen in a context as competitive as Madrid’s.

Beyond the term “mobbing”, what is worrying is the sporting situation of the footballer. Arda Güler is not having the desired prominence and his participation continues to be irregular. Pekmezci states that he already sensed that something like this could happen when he made the jump to a locker room full of established stars.

The former coach also suggested that the patience of the Turkish international could be running out. According to his words, Arda Güler could be asking himself internally: “Why always me? Why am I leaving?”.
