Real Madrid’s victory over Valencia at Mestalla wasn’t enough to calm tempers in the locker room. Beyond the three points, several footballers aren’t satisfied with the role Álvaro Arbeloa has assigned them… and they’ve already let him know.
The case that has come to light in the last few hours is Dani Carvajal’s. After his place on the bench in the last match, the captain held a face-to-face meeting with the coach to clarify his situation. As of today, he is behind Trent Alexander-Arnold and academy product David Jiménez in the rotation.

According to the newspaper AS, the conversation took place on good terms and both agreed to work to achieve the team’s objectives. However, it is clear that the man from Salamanca doesn’t see the Spanish international at one hundred percent.
Proof of this is that, despite having recovered from his injury… he has only played 27 minutes (13 against Albacete and 14 against Monaco). Very little for a player of Dani Carvajal’s stature and experience.
Not the only case
According to the newspaper Marca, the defender isn’t the only sacred cow in the locker room that is upset with Arbeloa. The other footballer who has shown discomfort over his lack of prominence is David Alaba.
